Coffee - a theme which never runs dry
Be it the treatment of coffee in art over the past four centuries, the vibrant political and cultural life of Parisian or Viennese coffee houses, the changing designs of silverware and china, the link between coffee and humour, the slogans used in advertising or the sale of canned coffee in Japan, the communicative significance of coffee-drinking or social conditions in coffee-growing areas, there is literally no end to the range of possible subjects associated with coffee.
Every year, the Johann Jacobs Museum puts on a new exhibition dealing with a cultural, social and political aspects of coffee. These exhibitions are based around the museum’s own collection.
